Why is there moisture on the walls of your house?

It is a simple physical phenomenon: water (with positive charge) through capillaries (small channels in the brick structure and reinforced concrete), is attracted upwards by the electrostatic energy of the walls (with negative charge), just like a magnet would do with iron.The results are mold, destroyed walls, unhealthy and smelling environments, and damage to furniture, clothes and artworks as for museums or churches.

Electrical phenomenon

The house has just been built: underneath it, water layers and subterranean waters start being absorbed by the walls due to an electrical phenomenon. This phenomenon is known as electro-osmosis and is the reason for the rising of the moisture up the walls, through the capillaries present in the structure of the walls.

Positive charge

The positively charged molecules of the water are attracted upwards, due to the negative charge of the walls and the attraction they exert

Negative charge

The water rises up the walls, penetrates the floors and the rest of the houses structures, as the negative charge of the walls attracts the water, so generating moisture, spots and salts that destroy the plaster of the walls.

Change of charge

Humitech converts the positive charge of the water molecules inside the walls to a negative charge, this way canceling the phenomenon. As a result, water starts flowing downwards due to gravity.

Protection

The walls and the floor dry completely. The water flows back to the ground. Humitech continues to operate, creating a “permanent protective mechanism” in the house and prevents this way future rising of water and moisture. The device remains permanently plugged in the mains, even after the complete drying of the walls, so that protection of the walls to be permanent.

It eliminates once and for all the moisture rising up the walls from the ground. One device can cover an area of about 240 square meters. It can influence an area of about 15 meters (around the device) and can therefore cover the basement or ground floor within its area of influence.
With its sophisticated technology, Humitech's function is to permanently stop the rising damp, thus triggering the spontaneous disposal - through natural evaporation - of the water already present in the masonry making the environment healthier and free of odors and mold.

Is the device HUMITECH safe for health?

Yes. Humitech does not create electric or magnetic fields and is completely safe according to health certifications across Europe.

How much time is needed usually for the walls to dry?

The needed time depends upon the materials of the walls. The more condense the materials are the more time is needed for the walls to dry. Generally in 3-6 months it can be noticed an “improvement” and “smell” disappears. The drying process is completed within a period of 6 to 36 months.

What conditions are necessary for the operation of the device?

The device is working under any circumstances relating to the rising of soil’s moisture up the walls. It can eliminate the humidity from basement walls and floors, since the device offers protection in a big area around it. The device does not offer any protection from moisture concentrating on ceilings, walls, or other kind of moisture.

How many devices do I need for my home?

A Humitech device covers a house of 240 square meters. (If placed on a wall in the center of the house).

After the installation of the device, what else do I need to know about its operation?

The device does not need any maintenance. It just needs to stay connected permanently to electricity in order to operate and produce its beneficial effects.

When can I paint the walls?

After 6 months of the installation, its’ imperative to remove the damage plasters and use an anti-salt material (there are such materials in the market). This is because the salts accumulated in the walls, if not treated, can in the future create problem to the plaster. The painting can follow this stage

What type of masonry can be dried up?

The device is able to dry up moisture from ANY MATERIALS: Bricks, Tuff, Stones , Cement, Reinforced concrete, ANY STRUCTURE: Perimeter walls, Interior walls, Ground walls, Pillars and columns, Floors and ANY BUILDING.

What is the monthly consumption?

The device has a power of less than 2 watts so the average consumption is € 1 per month.

What is the cost of the Humitech device?

The cost of the device is determined by the square meters of the house. To cover an area of up to 110 sqm, the device cost is 1600 € + VAT. To cover an area of up to 240 sqm, the device cost is 2000 € + VAT. For areas larger than 240 sqm, the above calculation is used in combination, in order to cover the entire surface.

What are the benefits in installing the Humitech device?

The advantages provided by the device must be taken into account are a) No maintenance is required every now and then, in paints and plasters, b) the walls dry permanently, c) healthy environment for all. The device is available in models with different range of action for each type of device. The price is advantageous in relation to the benefits it provides and the permanence of the results.

Does the device come with a warranty?

Yes. In addition to the two-year warranty by law, we have expanded to five years. However the operation of the device lasts for a lifetime.
